2022 Year in Review 

 2022 welcomed in-person fundraising events following the unwelcome covid-based
isolation in the years 2020 and 2021! The Bucks County Chapter’s 2022 fundraising result of
$92,200 for Fox Chase Cancer Center research was very welcome thanks to the Chapter’s many
donors, sponsors, and dedicated volunteers. The year’s fund-raising focused on:

The annual special pledge which raised $65,000 to support Dr. Zeng-jie Yang’s pediatric
medulloblastoma research. Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant brain
tumor in children. Despite the aggressive tumor treatment including surgical resection,
chemotherapy and radiation, a significant proportion of patients
with medulloblastoma still succumbs to this disease.

A bingo night event on October 20, 2022 which raised funds for Dr. Richard Bleicher’s breast cancer research while
providing fun, entertainment, and prizes for many at The National Shrine of Our Lady of
Czestochowa in Doylestown. This event received so much enthusiasm that we are
planning for a Designer Bag Bingo event on May 11, 2023
at the American Legion Hall in Doylestown, PA.

A virtual (October 1-18, 2022) and in-person art show (Oct. 19-20, 2022) which raised
$18,500 for Dr. Richard Bleicher’s breast cancer research. This research hopes to
identify the optimal time allowed between breast cancer diagnosis and treatment to
establish new guidelines and thereby improve patient outcomes.

Sadly, year 2022 also saw the passing of 3 wonderful Chapter members and donors:
Michael Raymond Fowler, Francis L. Finkle, and Linda Rosenberg Brown. We thank Michael, Francis, and
Linda for their passionate support of our Chapter in pursuit of
funding cancer research at Fox Chase.
The Bucks County Chapter looks forward to a successful 2023 in raising funds for cancer
research! And we welcome you to join the Chapter if you a interested in fighting cancer with
our dedicated, passionate team.
